More About Helen Buckels

I have been a Registered Nurse since graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1995. I have lived and nursed all around the UK and abroad (I lived in Australia for a while). Although I have now settled back down in Yorkshire with my Husband, Karl, and our rescued greyhound Bobbin.

During my nursing career I have worked in a multitude of roles and settings, including Coronary Care, Acute Medicine but mostly in the Community. I was a Community Matron within the Wakefield area for 12 years, before deciding to change direction, gain a better work/life balance, and learn something new. Thus starting my path to be a Clinical Hypnotherapist.

I received Hypnotherapy a number of times in the past, so have first hand experienced of the many positive differences that it can make to one's life.
I have always been interested in complimentary therapies. I have studied NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and Aromatherapy in the past.

I also have an interest in Yoga and Reiki and have completed my Reiki 1 Atunement training.

I have previously studied to Masters level and am a Non-Medical Prescriber, a Clinical Mentor and a Mental Health First Aider.

I have continued to nurse, during the Covid-19 pandemic and currently work for York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the South/Selby area.

I graduated with my Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis (Accredited) from Evolve Clinical Hypnotherapy Training and Development in Huddersfield, in November 2020.

I am fully registered both with the CNHC - Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC00308) and the GHR - General Hypnotherapy Register (Reg: 8760) who are run by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council, in line with the Department of Health guidelines.

I am also registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) for data protection and have my own Practice Insurance and a fully enhanced DBS check.
